Is the coronavirus a "Chinese virus"? Is the Covid-19 outbreak the Chinese government’s fault?

Since China was the first country where the coronavirus originated and spread, leaders of many countries hold the Chinese government responsible for the situation. In particular, due to the deep effects of the Covid-19 epidemic on all economies, China has become the scapegoat that can be comfortably blamed by many leaders. Also, in everyday life, many people began to blame the Chinese for the "strange things" they eat as the cause of the entire traumatic process. A practice of exclusion and alienation, sometimes leading to physical and verbal violence, has emerged all over the world, not only against the Chinese, but against all Far Eastern people. However, a little knowledge on recent history actually shows that the insight of the situation is quite different, contrary to Trump’s assertions of a "Chinese virus" or "Kungfluenza". In the last 20 years, the MERS infectious disease originated in the Middle East and it was transmitted to people from camels. Similarly, EBOLA first came out of West Africa. The HIV / AIDS virus/disease, which has been present for decades, still being one of the most deadly diseases, is sexually transmitted and it originated from the Congo Basin. Europeans brought the smallpox to the new continent centuries ago, killing millions of Native Americans. In short, the problem is not actually the "strangeness" of the animal species consumed, or the "dirty and tasteless" Chinese people. Foods that people consume are determined by structural imperatives and cultural codes, and nobody's diet is just their own personal taste. Therefore, if China did not produce this virus in a laboratory and spread it to the whole world, the coronavirus is not a “Chinese” virus. Covid-19 is the common problem of the whole humankind and a global problem that must be solved without blaming each other. Of course, trying to keep the spread of the virus secret for a long time may be a responsibility that China must face globally. However, it is worth noting that the biggest reason why this type of viruses are seen more frequently today when compared to the past is the gradual industrialization of meat production in a huge scale. It is no coincidence that these viruses come out of industrial livestock facilities every time. As long as the animals live in their natural habitat, this type of viruses is unlikely to emerge, because the thing that allows viruses to reproduce and jump to humans is that these animals are feed and slaughtered in very crowded industrial facilities. In short, just like the global warming issue, we are actually the responsible again. Unless our relationship with meat consumption and nature changes, we will continue encountering these viruses. Scientists working on the subject have been warning that such a new virus outbreak may occur repeatedly. Even if we overcome the Covid-19 epidemic, we will encounter such infectious diseases as long as our relationship with nature does not evolve in a positive way.
