Does Covid-19 affect everyone equally?

The coronavirus may seem to treat all people equally with its ability to infect everyone, but it is seen that there is a very uneven distribution in terms of the possibility of contact with the virus and getting infected. For example, in the United States, the lowest income neighborhoods are the places with the highest number of people infected by the coronavirus. Of course, the main reason for this is that white-collar employees are mostly able to work home-office. Therefore, upper-middle classes are less at risk when compared to lower class people who have to go to work every single day. The system allowing upper classes to work from their homes is actually based on the labour of people who carry packages by cargo, serve food, provide the food supply chain, fill shelves in markets, and look for pay desks. Although they were previously undervalued as unqualified labor, the lower classes have suddenly promoted to the level of essential labor and they take higher risks for themselves and their families, because they are constantly outside and in close to contact with other people, and also because they live in more crowded homes. Infectious diseases have had its worse effects on the lower steps of the social pyramid throughout the history and up until today. A study conducted in Delhi, India shows that flu outbreaks regularly hit the poorest areas of the city, which actually accelerates the spread of diseases.
